The article examines how the emergence of modern technologies has influenced the transformation of education, leading to the emergence of various innovative tools, and reveals the main parameters and tools of the learning management system (LMS). The strengths and weaknesses are identified using examples of several distance learning platforms (Moodle, Canvas LMS, Google Classroom, and EduLab) in order to uncover the pedagogical potential for online education in higher education institutions, and conclusions are drawn about the most effective LMS platforms.
