Abstract

This paper describes the experience of implementing the proposed neural network (NN) based routing protocol algorithm. This approach aims to improve the clustering efficiency. Energy consumption is an important factor for wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Our solution based on the neural network tool and the LEACH (Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy) routing protocol introduces the energy consumption criterion for the cluster head (CHH) selection process. The sensor node with the highest energy level is selected as the cluster head. The simulation results show that the proposed solution performs better than the classic LEACH.
