Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive overview of the role, significance, and application potential of Edge Computing and Edge Intelligence technologies in Internet of Things (IoT) systems. To overcome the limitations of traditional cloud computing architectures, processing data and integrating artificial intelligence at the edge level is presented as a crucial solution. The concept of Edge Intelligence enables IoT devices to operate in real time, reduce network latency, enhance security, and make autonomous decisions. The article also analyzes practical implementations of these technologies in areas such as surveillance cameras, drones, smart homes, agriculture, and retail. The study further addresses existing challenges, technical obstacles, and the development prospects associated with TinyML and 5G technologies.
